Colonel
Ö. Faruk DEMİRCİOĞLU was born in İstanbul in 1964.
He graduated from Kuleli Military High School in
1982, the Military Academy in 1986 and Artillery and
Missile School in 1987.
He served as a signal platoon leader, battery
officer and battery commander in different artillery
units between 1987 and 1998. During this period, he
also served as United Nations Military Observer in
Georgia for six months.
Having graduated from the War College as staff
officer in 2000, he served as Chief of Logistic
Branch in an Armored Brigade and planning officer in
Turkish General Staff Headquarters between 2001 and
2002.
Between 2002 and 2005 he worked as current
operations planning officer in NATO Rapid Deployable
Corps in Valencia, Spain. Following this service, he
commanded a Mechanized Battalion in Ardahan between
2005 and 2007. He worked as Chief of Staff in
Commando Brigade (Bolu) between 2007 and 2010.
Colonel Ö. Faruk DEMİRCİOĞLU also graduated from
Turkish Armed Forces Staff Collage in 2009, during
this service.
Colonel DEMİRCİOĞLU is married to Mrs. Ergül
DEMİRCİOĞLU and they have two children. He speaks
English and Spanish.
